Catalogue product photography: Botton + Gardiner

Botton + Gardiner is renowned for their modern furniture designs and fixtures for shopping centres, hotels, urban spaces, etc.  So, why am I talking about them? It’s because our latest catalogue product photography shoot for Botton + Gardiner was an absolute cracker of an experience. Our approach followed the brief to the T, which was to capture professional pictures of their latest furniture collection for an upcoming catalogue. This included an interesting mix of individual shots as well as styled sets. We shot for 3-days at the Cicada Studio at Artarmon, New South Wales by utilising a large cyclorama...

Mother’s Day Photo Campaign for Brother Australia

On Mother’s Day this year, Brother Australia released images from a photo campaign that we had collaborated with them on. Commissioned by Wow Factor, this Mother’s Day photo campaign is laden with aspirational imagery as the brand attempts to encourage craft enthusiasts and family members to create handmade gifts by either gifting their mums or themselves a Brother sewing/craft machine. With the brand targeting young mums and craft enthusiasts of the age’s 20-40years, the final images can be seen as aligning with their personalities. Today’s generation is particularly obsessed with the visual appeal and design of any product. Keeping this in mind, we’ve...

Shooting corporate portraits: black & white photography for Design Team

When it comes to shooting corporate portraits, one of the biggest challenges is getting people to relax in front of the camera. The other trick of course is to set up a pleasant background with clean lighting that ensure portraits look relaxed and the client feels confident about using them to promote themselves. Today’s blog post is laden with tips about things to remember when shooting corporate portraits along with a...

UNSW Dean Research Awards 2016

Event photography has always had us by our hearts and we love how each event presents with it a brand-new canvas coupled with a number of interesting challenges. This time, and for the fourth time in a row, we were approached by the University of South Wales, to cover their coveted UNSW Dean Research Awards. The venue was a beautiful location; a bar by the end of the Wharf. The time was dusk and as the event progressed into the evening, we managed to capture a number of exciting and euphoric moments, especially those of the winners. Here’s a...

So, when Mossgreen approached us for event photography for a viewing event of the highly anticipated Max Dupain auction, we were truly stoked. To give you a little background, Mossgreen is a specialist in single owner auctions for collections covering fine art and antiques. The viewing was organised at Mossgreen’s brand new Sydney premises. As most viewings go, potential bidders were given the opportunity to view first hand all of Max Dupain’s artworks that would be up for auction. The brief was to capture the audience mingling and viewing...
